Terms of Use

1. Service Description

• FilmMatch is a social movie discovery app offering the following features:
• Movie Discovery: Swipe-based movie liking and exploration.
• Social Matching: Matching and messaging with users who share similar taste in movies.
• Movie Quiz: Leaderboard and achievements.
• Watchlist: Personal movie watchlist creation.

2. Account and Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
• You must provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.
• Each user may only create one account.
• You are responsible for the security of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

• By using the App, you agree not to:
• Harass, threaten, or insult other users.
• Share misleading, fake, or spam content.
• Share content containing hate speech, discrimination, or violence.
• Impersonate another person or create fake profiles.
• Share inappropriate, obscene, or illegal content.
• Compromise the security of the App or engage in reverse engineering.
• Use bots, automated scripts, or unauthorized tools.
• Use the App for illegal activities.
• Share content related to, supporting, encouraging, or glorifying terrorism.
• Share nude, sexual, obscene, or pornographic photos, videos, or content.
• Share content that promotes violence, self-harm, or suicide.
• Share any content containing, encouraging, or associated with child exploitation. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy on this matter; detected accounts are immediately and permanently terminated, and all evidence is reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement.
• Share content promoting, facilitating, or encouraging the use, production, or trafficking of drugs or illegal substances. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy on this matter; detected accounts are immediately and permanently terminated and reported to the relevant authorities where applicable.
• Accounts violating these rules may be warned, suspended, or permanently terminated.

4. User Content

• You are responsible for all content you share, including profile photos, biography, reviews, and messages.
• Your content belongs to you, but by sharing it on FilmMatch, you grant the App a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use it.
• Inappropriate content may be removed when reported or detected.

5. Intellectual Property

• Movie information and images are provided by TMDB (The Movie Database).
• The FilmMatch name, logo, design, and source code belong to FilmMatch.
• Copying, modifying, or distributing any part of the App is prohibited.

6. Premium Membership and Subscriptions

• Premium features are offered through in-app purchases.
• Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription from your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.
• No partial refunds are provided for the current billing period.

7. Virtual Credits

• FilmMatch offers virtual credits ("Credits") for use within the application.
• Credits are purchased through in-app purchases via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Credits can only be used within the FilmMatch application and cannot be refunded, transferred, or converted to real currency.
• Purchased credits are non-refundable.
• Credits do not expire.
• Premium members earn a 20% bonus on credit purchases.
• FilmMatch reserves the right to change credit prices and packages without prior notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
• FilmMatch is not responsible for interactions between users.
• We accept no liability for data loss, service interruptions, or issues arising from third-party services.

9. User Safety and Meetings

• FilmMatch enables users to interact with each other. However:
• FilmMatch does not guarantee any meeting or friendship outcomes.
• The accuracy of user profiles is not guaranteed. No identity verification is performed.
• FilmMatch is not responsible for any real-life meetings between users.
• For your safety, choose public places for meetings and inform someone you trust.
• You can report inappropriate, harassing, or threatening behavior using the "Report" option on user profiles.
• If you feel unsafe, you can block the user and contact local law enforcement.

10. Account Suspension and Termination

• You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account.
• When your account is deleted, all your data is permanently removed.
• In case of rule violations, your account may be suspended or terminated without prior notice.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notifications. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
• Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Turkey.
• For EU/EEA residents: These terms do not affect your mandatory rights under local consumer protection laws. You retain the right to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
• For US residents: Your consumer rights under applicable state laws are preserved.
• For residents of other countries: Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence continue to apply.
